First, Allow me to Introduce myself…

DSC_1795.jpg

Heya there!

I’m Kaylan.

I’m a certified master gardener and self taught healthy food artist, with a love for nature and adventure. I’ve spent years cultivating an abundant urban garden.

While I’ve always known the interconnected value of health, happiness, and nature, I never saw a clear path towards living in harmony with them. I tried every tiresome tactic and special diet in pursuit of a healthy and wholesome life.

Now, I’ve cultivated a special system of clean eating. I no longer experience my body and mind as a limitation. Taking care of my body is no longer a daunting task.

After experiencing the simplicity of healthy living in tune with mother nature, I knew it was something that could free both the planet and its inhabitants. My life calling is reconnecting people to nature through their food, all while loosening the grip of corrupted food industries on people’s health.

Trust me, I get it…

I’ve had a rocky relationship with food ever since I can remember.

Worst of all, I grew up in a society that peddled processed junk as the food that was supposed to nourish our bodies.

More than anything, food always felt like a low priority inconvenience.

Still, it doesn’t take a food scientist to realize the tremendous influence food had over the quality of our lives.

My poor eating habits were always accompanied by lack of energy, long bouts of depression, and a vicious cycle of insecurity that seemed inescapable.

During times in my life where quality food was more accessible, I watched as all those wholesome foods kicked those undesirable feelings to the curb.

Without fail, good nutrition always jump-started my energy, elevated my mood, and made me feel like a productive ass kickin’ machine.

DSC_1838.jpg

Still, life lurked around every corner. That’s the thing about living after all...

It’s never long before we find ourselves stumbling right back into our rocky relationships with food.

A prolonged run in with these eating habits can leave our health in shambles, leading to serious health complications earlier and earlier in life.

I’ve found myself in this place, as hopeless and destitute as ever.

Like clockwork, I would see a host of issues arise that looked pretty familiar. Fatigue, anxiety, low self worth…

Only this time, the bad eating habits lasted longer, bringing about digestive problems, chronic pain, and the worst depression of my life.

For years I tried every possible route towards peace with my body and mind, from supplements to medications to restrictive “healthy” diets.

Who knows how long I would’ve blindly stumbled through tactic after tactic, never once looking to nature for the most simple solution.

I used to be SO overwhelmed by the countless hours and dollars I poured into just trying to eat three healthy, home cooked meals a day.

It felt pathetic, more than anything.

After all, cooking for yourself is kind of like an intrinsic human skill, right?

Yet, it only seemed attainable if you had a stay at home chef or endless income up your sleeve.

Whereas the processed food route always seems so commonplace, easy, and manageable. Doesn’t it?

I felt unable to make any healthy progress even if my life DEPENDED on it. I thought my sad tango with misguided eating and lackluster health would go on forever…

I knew this couldn’t be the sad state of our relationship with food forever.

To put it bluntly, that wasn’t a life worth living for me.

I didn’t know it at the time, but I was a victim of a cold, money hungry system.

We all are.

This system keeps us from feasibly nourishing our bodies, mind and soul with REAL, fresh food.

Our go-go world had me convinced there was no time for my health and success.

If ANY of your feelings towards food are even remotely negative, whether it’s cost, cravings, nutrition, time, or flavor…

Don’t blame yourself.

I’m here to tell you it’s not your fault AND there is another option.

I would move on to discover a solution that would remedy all my wellness challenges in one fell swoop.

Not only did it solve these problems, but it replaced them with a host of benefits that have sparked pure joy in my life.

Best of all, it delivered a sense of substance, peace, and happiness to my life where nothing else could.

IMG_7277.jpeg

I want to extend that brightness to you.

Below, I’ll share the solution that single handedly wiped out ALL of these problems in one fun, rewarding lifestyle change.

This alone would leave me feeling content, but it doesn’t stop there.

It delivered a host of benefits that have truly enriched my life for the better.

IMG_9310.jpeg

Today, I’ll share how you can get a slice of this foodie prosperity, including:

My discovery of the most intuitive form of eating, and how you can bring that practice into your own life.

What the human relationship with food should really look like.

How it can take all the fuss out of meal planning, replacing it with pure creativity.

How the task of imbuing a dish with both flavor and nutrition can be made stupidly simple.

How you can kick the obstacle of time and money out of your healthy lifestyle for good.

IMG_9661.jpeg

Want to replace life’s pains with positive benefits?

Imagine....

Having all the energy you need to KILL it at what you do, and still pursue hobbies and passions off the clock.

Radiating health from the inside out, never physically limited by your own body.

Feeling great from a body nourished with REAL, whole foods.

Fueling a kickass immune system that keeps you alive and well!

Finding a new sense of peace in your bond with nature - providing you with a bounty of nourishment, all while giving you a space to really disconnect from the hustle bustle of urban life.

After you take just a few minutes to read this page, you’ll see this clear solution to the host of health problems created by the modern urban lifestyle.

Along the way, I’ll share a few tactics that make eating well a hell of a lot more easy and fun.

Not only this, but if you stick with me here, you’ll receive a special something for your time.

Cool? Cool. Let’s get started.

IMG_6956.JPG

I entered my first edible food garden as a volunteer, anticipating some laborious work…

Instead, I left feeling strangely… revitalized?

IMG_9828.jpeg

Better yet, I was encouraged to take home an incredible bounty of veggies after my hard morning’s work.

Upon going home and making my breakfast from these fresh ingredients, it hit me.

I remembered the unrivaled texture of fresh potatoes from my Great Aunt’s garden, as generous and bountiful as it was beautiful and calming.

I remembered the youthful summers spent on my grandparent’s farm, picking buckets of strawberries in exchange for fancy art pencils. My grandma used to insist I occasionally ‘field test’ them by sampling tender strawberries that left an explosion of flavor in my mouth.

I realized the solution to affordable, healthy eating among the hustle bustle of modern life.

Within just a few more weeks of vegetable gardening, I was hooked and REALLY starting to bounce back.

I learned that growing your food in an urban setting wasn’t an impossibility. In fact, I watched it bring so much joy to communities that otherwise would have been fresh food deserts.

DSC_1883.jpg

I kept volunteering at gardens around my city,

taking every garden course I could,

and spending hours experimenting with the huge variety of seasonal veggies that came with.

I was eating well, straight from the garden, for a fraction of the cost.

But there was more to it than that.

Not only was it transforming my mental and physical health, it was reworking my relationship with food entirely.

Suddenly, cooking became a practice of ease and self care, rather than intense planning and mental anguish.

I was shopping from the garden and intuitively making meals inspired by the seasons.

I was awakened to something so simple, where there was originally so much complexity…

A more intuitive form of eating.

This is how I managed to transform my life for the better, and now, I’ll share some of those tactics with you.

The Intuitive Cookbook WITHIN

IMG_7175.jpg

Cooking is now a creative space, while also being a mindless, calming activity - something I can bang out on a whim.

I might even vibe out and enjoy myself a bit.

I stroll into the kitchen, a few cravings in mind, and take a look at what is prepped in the fridge.

Pulling out a colorful assortment of seasonal chopped veggies, I simply cook them up to pair with whatever base, protein, and condiments I have on hand.

I turn on some tunes, groove out, and throw in some spices until the aroma has me ready to chow down - using my nose rather than a recipe.

When you learn simple preparation of your basic whole foods, it can be incredibly simple to throw a meal together without needing instructions or fancy ingredients.

Once you start working with seasonal produce, the flavors really begin to come together on their own.

My Simple Bowl Framework:

My Simple Bowl Framework:

Veggies: Doesn’t matter what they are, just roast em in the oven, fry' em in a pan, or enjoy them raw! When you incorporate seasonal eating, this becomes even more second nature. (We’ll get to that next.)

Protein: Same deal, pull out them proteins and serve ‘em up with your veggies. Grill some chicken, fry up an egg, bake a fish filet, or warm up some beans!

Base: There’s a huge assortment of bases to choose from here: salad greens, roasted potatoes, pasta, rice, ramen noodles, gnocchi, or couscous! And that’s just to name a few…

Condiments: Where things get flavorful! This brings the whole dish together - no matter the variety of ingredients. Cook/Top the dish with your favorite salad dressing, sriracha, hummus, pesto, soy sauce, chili oil, etc.

Toppings: Last, but certainly not least, take your meal to the next level with your favorite toppings. Use avocado, fresh herbs, nuts, seeds, and seasonings to add texture, nutrition, and loads of flavor!

Believe it or not…

Healthy cooking doesn’t require crafting some intricate meal with:

  • 20+ ingredients

  • complex processes

  • 6+ different components

It doesn’t take much to make whole, fresh foods taste good, especially when cooking them up in your favorite flavors!

Still, there’s something that almost guarantees this intuitive healthy cooking will result in the freshest, most delicious flavors.

Not only this, but it takes the guesswork out of picking and combining veggies for maximum nutrients and flavor.

Maximize Your Meals With Seasonal Eating

There’s something so enriching about knowing where your food comes from…

Something your body benefits from in more ways than we could ever know.

When you pick up market produce out of season, it was likely picked unripe and travelled a long way for that luxury.

Doesn’t sound very fresh, does it?

Whereas foods grown within their proper season develop to contain significantly more nutrients and flavor.

If it was grown locally, but out of season, then a lot of flavor and nutrition is sacrificed to grow these crops out of their element.

Do you produce more quality work when you feel like working? I’m sure being forced to work in unideal conditions only results in decreased quality.  Plants aren’t too different from us.

Alas, it only gets worse from there.

The majority of foods in your grocery store come packaged in toxic plastics, treated with loads of pesticide and herbicide.

By eating in season, you are opting out of these convenience consequences.

If you kick it up a notch by eating locally or from your very own garden, you circumvent the unsustainable food system altogether.

Best of all, you gain the best possible nourishment, flavor and satisfaction from your meals.

While it can be fun to mix and match, the foods that each season brings blend together so beautifully.

So much so, you need not put much effort into recipe planning.

Instead, mother nature does the work for you.

So how does one eat seasonally without an edible food garden? I got some tricks for ya.

Where you live plays a huge role in what season foods are available, but there are some general rules of thumb you can follow to ensure you’re eating funky fresh:

IMG_0194.jpg

Warmer seasons bring more seed-containing fruiting foods

- such as strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, melons, squash, cucumbers, etc.

IMG_7286.jpeg

Cooler, shorter seasons bring plant part foods that don’t contain seeds -

such as leafy greens, lettuces, broccoli, cabbage, beets, radishes, carrots etc.

Another great way to learn about your seasonal produce is to visit your local farmers market.

Here, you can behold the unrivaled freshness and nourishment of locally grown, seasonal foods.

IMG_7230.jpeg

That Farmer’s Market Goodness

The Good Good, if you will…

Careful, you may never be able to go back to grocery store produce again…

But then again, knowing what you know now, would you even want to?

Of course, the best, most affordable way to eat within the seasons, is by growing the food yourself.

This guarantees the freshest produce at your fingertips, for the lowest possible expense.

Enjoy the changing of seasons from the perspective of your plate, and never view food the same way again - transforming your life for the better.

Once I discovered the truth about our modern food system, I began looking more deeply at my urban lifestyle.

I discovered a world of possibilities, experimenting with urban gardening techniques to cultivate the most possible food out of small spaces.

IMG_6954.jpeg

As my garden grew, so did my green thumb.

I adapted my tactics to get the most out of small garden spaces.

I learned special techniques to usher many a bountiful yield from my garden bed.

I developed foolproof natural remedies for knockin’ out pest problems.

I found new ways to effortlessly build soil and my overall garden resistance.

IMG_8596.jpeg

I was guaranteed to cultivate a vibrant garden wherever I desired.

Gardening transformed me from a sickly, depressed and anxious person.

I desperately poured all my time, money, and energy into food preparation - only to see little change in my wellness.

Life felt dreary and I lacked any sense of purpose or self worth.

Years of effort and money… ALL because I appreciate you and this huge step you’re taking for yourself and the planet.

Aight… So what we lookin’ at?

Alright my friend, like I told ya, I’m here for you and the planet.

That’s why I’m trying to give you as much valuable guidance as possible, for as little as possible.

Remember…

  • I spent thousands of dollars in school, on top of YEARS of my life, avidly studying horticulture and gardening

  • In addition to hundreds and hundreds of dollars, on top of even more years, have been spent tirelessly experimenting in the kitchen.

  • I now charge local clients hundreds for edible food gardening consultations on all the topics packaged in this course.

Of course, local consultations can’t reach the entire planet I’m trying to save.

So I sacrificed over a year developing this course for ALL to learn from.

That’s why, despite the over $5000 value of this course, I originally priced the course at $350. (spoiler alert: it gets lower.)

After all, this was two courses in one. Ultimately, my course could enable you to save triple that in just one month of groceries.

IMG_8571.jpeg

Don’t believe me? Let the numbers talk.

Here’s my personal breakdown for feeding a simple household of two:

In the beginning, we regularly ate takeout for most of our meals. Most eating expenses ended up at around $275 per week.

Once I started cooking most of my meals at home, this amount greatly reduced to spending around $100-120 per week on groceries.

• Eating out of my garden, and using my intuitive cooking practices, has brought our eating expenses down to $30-60 per week.

Whoa.

That’s going from spending around $1,100 to $120-200 on food every month. (We ripped off an entire zero there.)

For some, this could mean as much as $980 in savings every month - which can tally up to a little under $12,000 per year

Everyone’s numbers will look different, but the ratio of change is yours for the taking!

That’s enough to take a few family vacations, start paying off your student debt, make payments on a new car/house or invest in a new hobby.

I figured my first price tag checked out considering all the time, money, and value packed into my two in one course.

But then I remembered why I did this in the first place.

I remembered a community garden mentor telling me “you have to be in it for the right reasons.”

I don’t want one more person to fall victim to the modern corporate food industry.

IMG_0400.jpg

I want to give everyone the opportunity to experience the unrivaled freshness of homegrown foods - no matter their food budget.

So I cut that price to a mere fraction and priced my two course package at $60.

Still, I wanted to ensure everyone gets a piece of the savings and health benefits.

So if my reduced rate of $60 is still too much of an investment before you can REALLY begin saving money on food, I have another option.

Use either course, a la carte, to cut your food expenses as soon as possible - only having to make an $35 investment

This way, EVERYONE has the option of changing their relationship with food if they really want to.
